Duff sits along Highway 10 in the Rural Municipality of Stanley No. 215, about 20 kilometres west of Melville, 66 kilometres south-west of Yorkton and roughly 122 kilometres north-east of Regina.
The community incorporated as a village on May 28, 1920. It kept that status for just over a century, until January 1, 2022, when it gave up village status and became a special service area within the RM of Stanley No. 215.
About three kilometres east of Duff, on the south side of Highway 10, is the Duff Provincial Recreation Site, a conservation area on Pearl Creek.
